Crochet t and knit ornament covers

Crochet ornament cover 1
Ch6, slip stitch to beginning Ch to form a circle.
Rd1: ch3 (counts as dc), make 14 more dcs into loop. Sl st to beginning ch3
Rd2: Ch4 dc in next dc. Ch1 dc in each dc around. Sl st into third Ch of chr4.(total 15dc and 15ch1 spaces)
Rd3: sl into ch1 space. Ch4, dc in same ch1 space. Ch1,dc, ch1, dc in each Ch space around(total 30 dc and 30 ch1 spaces). Sl st to third Ch of ch4.
Rd4: sl st in ch1 space. Ch4(counts as ch1 and dc throughout), dc in next ch1 sp. Ch1, dc in next ch1 space around. Sl st to third Ch of ch4. (Total 30 dc and 30 Ch1 spaces).
Rd5-10: repeat rd4.
Fasten off weave in ends.  Cut a scrape piece of yarn or ribbon long enough to weave through last round and to make a bow.
Take scrape yarn or ribbon and weave through ch1spaces of last round. Pull cover over ornament and finch closed. Loosely tie a knot and bow to secure the cover.

For smaller size ornaments use less stitches and less rebounds to start out with and following the above pattern.

Used cotton thread size 10 and a size 3 steel hook
Ch4, slip stitch to form ring.
Rd1: ch3, make 14 more dcs into ring. Sl st to beginning Ch 3 (Total 15 dc).
Rd2: ch3, dc in same space as ch3. 2dc in each dc around. Sl st to third Ch of ch3. (Total 30 dcs).
Rd3: ch5 (counts as dc and ch2 space), skip one dc and dc in next dc. Ch2, skip dc and dc in next around. Sl st in third Ch of ch5. (Total 15 dc and 15 ch2 spaces).
Rd4: Sl st in ch2 sp.Ch4(counts as dc and ch1 spaces), dc in same space. Ch2, dc, ch1, dc in each space around. Sl st in third Ch of ch4. (Total 30dcs, 15 ch1 spaces, and 15 ch2 spaces)
Rd5: Sl st into ch1 space. Ch5(counts as dc and ch2 space throughout), dc in ch2 space. Ch2, dc in next ch1 space, Ch 2 dc in next ch2 space around. Sl st into third Ch of ch5. (Total 30 dcs and 30 ch2 spaces).
Rd6: Sl st into ch2 space. Ch5, dc in next Ch 2 space. Ch2 dc in next ch2 spaces, around. Sl st to third Ch of ch5. (Total 30 dcs and 30 ch2 spaces).
Rd6-13: repeat round 6.
Fasten off and weave in ends. Cut piece of yarn or ribbon long enough to weave through ch2 of last round and to make a bow.
Once yarn is weaved through last round, slip cover on ornament and clinched closed. Loosely tie a knot and make a bow.


Knit cover 1
Use double pointed needles. I used cotton thread.
Cast on 36 and distributable evenly on two DPNs
Knit stitch each stitch on the needles in the round. Keep working rounds to desire length. Cast off and weave in ends.
For smaller ornaments cast on less stitches. This is a pattern that you can play around with to custom fit to the size ornament you have.

Crochet/ knit ornament covers

Wow it's hard to believe that Thanksgiving is right around the corner. I came up with a couple of quick patterns for ornament covers. Two patterns are made in crochet stitches and the third is made with knit stitches. All of these pattern can be made with in a hour or hour and a half. You can make these while sitting down watching tv or in between chores/ task.

Crochet bath pouf/loofah

Awesome! I made my first bath pouf/loofah tonight. I decided to five the bath pouf/loofah to my mother-in-law and she feel in love with it. Most of the pouf/loofah is made with 100% cotton but about 10% I had to use acrylic yarn.

Bath Pouf/Loofah

I started out with a chain of two and made 20 dc into the first chain. For rounds 2-3 I did four dc in each dc.On round 4 I did one dc in each dc. the hanger was a chain of 30.

Crochet Scrubbers

What a beautiful day. I came up with a pattern to make crochet scrubbers. For the example in the picture I used cotton yarn. I am also going to make one using acrylic yarn. The pattern is very easy to make and follow. I hope everyone enjoys the scrubber and pattern. Renee's Scrubber Pattern
  Materials: I-9 hook, cotton or acrylic yarn, scissors, and needle

start with a chain of 22
RW1: sc in fourth ch from hook(counts as a sc and ch-1 space), ch1, skip next ch, sc in next ch;
     repeat with ch1, skip ch,sc in next to the end.(Total of 12sc and 11ch-1 spaces)
RW2: ch2,sc in first ch-1 space, ch1, sc in next ch-1 space; repeat sc in ch-1,ch1 8 more times;
     For the last ch-1 space do a single crochet(Total of 12sc, and 11ch-1 spaces)
RW3-RW16: repeat row2
Edging
On the last row, ch1. turn; sc in first sc, sc in ch-1 space; Repeat to the corner, on the corner
make sure there are 3 sc's.On the sides sc in each space. On the last edge make sure you do 2sc in
last stitch and slip to first sc to join. Weave in ends.

Crochet Band Ring

I made this ring using size 10 cotton thread. I did four rounds, but you can do more or less. The least amount of rows I would do are two. I came up with this pattern on my own and it took me ten minutes to make the ring. Have a great night and happy crocheting.

Theses dishcloths are easy to make. The one with the green border was made with an I-9 hook. The one with the yellow border was made with a J-10 hook. Took me thirty minutes to make one washcloth.

row2: ch4, dc in first mesh,*ch1, dc in next mesh, repeat from *to the end (total 18 meshes)

repeat row 2 for desired length.

Edging-3sc in each corner and 2 sc in each mesh.

crochet projects

Hey everyone,
 Over the past months  I have been crocheting a lot of little projects.  And within the  last month I learned how to do corner to corner. I have crocheted Christmas Oranaments, wash clothes, dish clothes, hot pads, door knob covers, and soap savers.
 I have come up with a couple of my own patterns for soap savers, and a hot pad. Last night I made a wash/dishcloth using the C2C pattern, but I stopped on eight squares and then started to make decreases. I am seriously thinking about making an C2C afghan or blanket. I love how fast C2C works up.

I have made a couple of pairs of earrings using my own patterns. The first pattern is a five petal flower earring. The second pattern is a shamrock.  The third pattern is an eight petal flower. As soon as I get the two flowers done in all eleven colors, I will post pictures of them.

crochet barbie dress/skirt and coat/jacket

Good Evening everyone,
I know it has been a while since I made a post. I was busy with work and dealing with other issues. During the summer my guinea pig Pickles passed away and I really was not in the mood to crochet a lot at first. Today I made a crochet barbie dress/ skirt. I will post the pattern later on along with the pictures. Currently I am working on a crochet coat/jacket for a barbie doll. The coat/jacket is a little bit of a challenge. Pretty Flowers

Good Evening,

After a long day at work, I came home and started to crochet some small projects to help relax me. I made a ribbon flower and an eclipitic flower. A while back I tried to do the crochet ribbon flower, but had a hard time understanding how to do the chainless foundation. This afternoon I started watching the video and I caught on very fast with how to make the chainless foundation row. Do not be discouraged if it takes you more than once to understand how to do the chainless foundation or another stitch. Keep practing. Happy Crocheting. Have a great night.

Day off from work due to winter weather

Good Evening,

Today while I was home, due to bad winter weather, I decided to work on a couple of small crochet items. I made a mesh heart and a small star. The mesh heart took me fifteen minutes to make and the small star took me ten minutes. I love watching The Art of Crochet by Thersea because the instructions on the video are easy to follow and most of her videos have written patterns.

I will post the pictures of the items I crocheted later.

The small heart took me ten minutes to make, without adding an edging. The large crochet heart took me twenty minutes to make and the easy one took me fifteen minutes.

Sorry it has been a while since I posted. Over the last couple of weeks I have crocheted a hat, cap, and a square.

The cap with brim took me four hours to complete from start to finish. I used a M13 hook which made the cap a little smaller, but I can wear it and so can an older girl.
