Crochet t and knit ornament covers

Crochet ornament cover 1
Ch6, slip stitch to beginning Ch to form a circle.
Rd1: ch3 (counts as dc), make 14 more dcs into loop. Sl st to beginning ch3
Rd2: Ch4 dc in next dc. Ch1 dc in each dc around. Sl st into third Ch of chr4.(total 15dc and 15ch1 spaces)
Rd3: sl into ch1 space. Ch4, dc in same ch1 space. Ch1,dc, ch1, dc in each Ch space around(total 30 dc and 30 ch1 spaces). Sl st to third Ch of ch4.
Rd4: sl st in ch1 space. Ch4(counts as ch1 and dc throughout), dc in next ch1 sp. Ch1, dc in next ch1 space around. Sl st to third Ch of ch4. (Total 30 dc and 30 Ch1 spaces).
Rd5-10: repeat rd4.
Fasten off weave in ends.  Cut a scrape piece of yarn or ribbon long enough to weave through last round and to make a bow.
Take scrape yarn or ribbon and weave through ch1spaces of last round. Pull cover over ornament and finch closed. Loosely tie a knot and bow to secure the cover.

For smaller size ornaments use less stitches and less rebounds to start out with and following the above pattern.

Used cotton thread size 10 and a size 3 steel hook
Ch4, slip stitch to form ring.
Rd1: ch3, make 14 more dcs into ring. Sl st to beginning Ch 3 (Total 15 dc).
Rd2: ch3, dc in same space as ch3. 2dc in each dc around. Sl st to third Ch of ch3. (Total 30 dcs).
Rd3: ch5 (counts as dc and ch2 space), skip one dc and dc in next dc. Ch2, skip dc and dc in next around. Sl st in third Ch of ch5. (Total 15 dc and 15 ch2 spaces).
Rd4: Sl st in ch2 sp.Ch4(counts as dc and ch1 spaces), dc in same space. Ch2, dc, ch1, dc in each space around. Sl st in third Ch of ch4. (Total 30dcs, 15 ch1 spaces, and 15 ch2 spaces)
Rd5: Sl st into ch1 space. Ch5(counts as dc and ch2 space throughout), dc in ch2 space. Ch2, dc in next ch1 space, Ch 2 dc in next ch2 space around. Sl st into third Ch of ch5. (Total 30 dcs and 30 ch2 spaces).
Rd6: Sl st into ch2 space. Ch5, dc in next Ch 2 space. Ch2 dc in next ch2 spaces, around. Sl st to third Ch of ch5. (Total 30 dcs and 30 ch2 spaces).
Rd6-13: repeat round 6.
Fasten off and weave in ends. Cut piece of yarn or ribbon long enough to weave through ch2 of last round and to make a bow.
Once yarn is weaved through last round, slip cover on ornament and clinched closed. Loosely tie a knot and make a bow.


Knit cover 1
Use double pointed needles. I used cotton thread.
Cast on 36 and distributable evenly on two DPNs
Knit stitch each stitch on the needles in the round. Keep working rounds to desire length. Cast off and weave in ends.
For smaller ornaments cast on less stitches. This is a pattern that you can play around with to custom fit to the size ornament you have.
